Happiness and the feeling of being content is the supreme key to all the success stories and the greatest accomplishments in the world.

Those people who stay happy and make other people around them happy, are the ones who know the art of doing work; accomplishing their goals in their lives and materializing things into results and success. Only those people could stay happy in their life that are content with the things around them and gratified for the precious life that has been bestowed to them by the Almighty.

Those who have a firm faith and conviction in the unknown and his inexplicable powers; those who stay focus in their life; those whose deeds and speech are pleasing and thoughtful; those who concentrate on their journey and on their path; those who are benevolent and obliging to others; those who are grateful to the Divine for creating all the worthy things and do have a belief that all of us are there in this world to accomplish a purpose of their own; and those who are not deterred and frightened by the adverse are the ones who stays calm and happy in their life.

The one who knows this key of happiness is destined to be a winner in all places and is bound to attain triumph in his/her life.

Are you an effective leader?

Tags

During a conversation, one should give more importance and value to the other person than himself or herself. One could only be friendly with others and work along with others, if that person does not overload others with his or her ego and self-esteem. Such people could prove to be a good boss and could easily take all the blames when any subordinate commits any mistake and give away all the credits to them whenever they work extraordinarily.

To be concerned and considerate to your colleagues; and to provide them help and emotional support in their personal and professional issues is a sign of an effective leadership skill in a person.

To be friendly and sensitively connected with your peers improves yours and your team’s collective quality of work and results.

Where office colleagues are meant and treated like mere acquaintances and are not closely bonded as a team, there remains a lack in leadership and due to not as much of coordination amongst colleagues lesser results and performance would be delivered.

In most of the sports, the team which plays and performs with a great team spirit and camaraderie generally wins the game and remains champions worldwide. And where there is a lack of team spirit and shared aims; where people lack common harmony and coordination there the chances of victory becomes least i.e. nil and that team loses often, no matter how good and capable the players could be present in that team.

If the team captain does not give enough and equal respect and opportunity to each team player and in spite of that does partiality and favoritism then such teams generally face defeat and discord due to lack of coordination and harmony.

So it’s quite advisable and preferable for a person to be an effective leader and superior by maintaining an equal cohesion and commonality to its juniors and colleagues. And, that person would be equally esteemed if that person provides everyone respect and support.

“Maa Aschen”!!! Maa Durga has arrived!!!

All of us must be already enjoying or all decked up to enjoy an extended weekend break this time, all across India, due to the Durga Puja cum Dushhera holidays.

The whole Delhi and NCR is all geared up to celebrate this grand festival with great fervor and zeal, as the capital region of India, has a countless number of Bengali population residing here, who celebrates this festival each year with splendor.

In each bazaar (market) or mohalla (colonies or sectors), grand pandals or puja-halls are made and are vividly decorated with exquisitely crafted and ornamented life-size clay idol of Goddess Durga.

The Schools, Colleges and Government Offices remains closed for a few days on the occasion of this festival. Everyone celebrates Durga Puja festival with their family members and friends wearing new clothes on this event.

This festival continues for ten days and on the tenth day, the image of Goddess Durga is carried in a procession and immersed into a river. The day of Shoshti, Saptami Ashtami and Navmi, which are the Sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth day respectively, of the puja, are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm amongst the local crowd, in a huge way.

The excitement and vehemence amongst the crowd in all the pandals doubles up the each passing day.

Yesterday, on the day of Durga Ashtami, I went to see one of the pandal which is been constructed in our premises of our society. We all did the divine darshanas of the Goddess Durga. We all offered Anjali to the deity along with the “Uludhwani” (an auspicious sound created by the females, by their tongue) and the “shankh dhwani” (conch blowing), Aagomani songs and bhajans.

I was all lost and absorbed in the splendor and magnificence of the Goddess. The image or the clay idol of the Goddess had ten hands. She held different weapons including a snake to kill the demon Mahishasura. She sat on a lion which was her holy carrier. I was all mesmerized by the heavenly sight of the Omnipresent and offered my prayers to the deity.

I could see the different stalls of various vendors selling food-items, toys, decorative items, showpieces, clothes and different household items. There was a sense of chaos and excitement all amongst the restless crowd visiting the pandal. The children were going berserk upon toys and their favorite food items being sold on the shops and their parents were busy offering prayers and performing rituals.

During mornings different sports activities for children and their parents are being conducted throughout these days of festivities. And in the evenings, various cultural activities and performances by children and adults, takes the centre stage of the event.

Now I am looking forward for tomorrow’s (DurgaAshtami’s) celebration, where main attraction is the Dhunuchi nritya. Till then, Jai Durga Ma, Jai Mata di!!!!

The Dulcet Discourse

Tags

, , , , , , , , , , , ,

Everything said in an appropriate and in a decent manner sounds pleasing and acceptable to one and all.  For instance, if someone addresses you as – “Miss/Madam/Mister/Sir/Lady/Gentleman” etc, then you would definitely like this way of addressing to you; but somehow, someone addresses you as “Aye/ Oye/ Hello/Listen you” etc, then you would certainly not find it welcoming.

Primarily, one should focus on our way and content of speech and secondarily, one should not speak unreasonably and at the wrong time. An example to an untimely way of speaking would be- say you are taking your meals and someone talking to you at the same time, about his/her diseases or say, irregular bowel movements, then with no doubt, you would be highly displeased with his/her way of unreasonable and inopportune speech.

Even, if you are having a reasonable and a sensible conversation but at a wrong time, then of course it is quite a worthless and an awkward conduct.

Do not ever speak in a way which hurt somebody and his/her sentiments. Try to maintain politesse and an individual code of demeanor, try to bestow others respect and reverence and never ever try to belittle others through your way of speech.

Those who disparage others by their speech, never gets pleasure in their lives and remain discontent.

Try to be in command of your words and your speech so that once you speak them, you shall not regret in future over them, as everyone around us is a mere human being and does seek adulation and love from others as we want from them.

“Bose-on”-An unforgettable hero’s work goes on and on

Tags

If every one of you has heard the recent news about this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics, you might be questioning yourself that “Well, What is a Higgs boson anyway?”

If you be familiar with one thing about the Higgs boson, it’s probably that it’s called the “God particle” (because its existence is the key to understand the early evolution of the universe.) Leon Lederman, who won a Nobel in 1988 for discovering a couple of other subatomic particles, coined that term in 1993 because the Higgs was so hard to pin down. As Eryn Brown reported, Lederman had really wanted to call it the “Goddamn particle.”

But does that really answer your question?

[Particle Physics’ brief History:-

5th Century BC: Greek philosopher Democritus says the universe comprises invisible particles called atoms.

1800s: John Dalton lays the groundwork for atomic theory. The electron is discovered by Britain’s Joseph Thomson, Nobel laureate in 1906.

1899-1950s: Ernest Rutherford discovers the atomic nucleus and the proton. Neutron, similar to the proton but with no electrical charge, is discovered by James Chadwick. Particle accelerators help the discovery of many high velocities were achieved to stimulate the Big Bang.

1964: Six Physicists publish papers independently on how particles acquire mass. Murray Gell-Mann and George Zweig of US propose that protons and neutrons, are compromised of smaller charged particles- quarks.

1974: The Standard Model is devised: a theory of fundamental particles.

2008: CERN begins the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s biggest particle smasher.

July 4, 2012: CERN announces it has discovered a particle resembling Higgs.

October 08 2013: Higgs and Englert are awarded. ] * source: Hindustan Times, 9th Oct’13

The Higgs boson is the particle associated with the Higgs field, an energy field that transmits mass to the things that travel through it. Peter Higgs and Francois Englert theorized way back in 1964 that this is how things in the universe – stars, planets, even people – came to have mass.

The ‘boson’ in the Higgs boson particle, whose investigation and eventual uncovering was one of the longest and most expensive in the history of science, owes its name to the great Indian Physicist (and also a Mathematician) Satyendra Nath Bose.

SN Bose, in many higher echelons of knowledge, still lies masked in ignorance. The name of SN Bose, despite being the name behind the naming of the particle that has shot to prominence yet again, doesn’t appear the way it deserves to.

Bose, in early 20th century i.e. in 1924, sent a paper to Albert Einstein describing a statistical model that eventually laid the basis for describing the two classes of subatomic particles – bosons, named after Bose, and fermions, after Italian physicist Enrico Fermi. This led to the discovery of what became known as the “Bose-Einstein condensate phenomenon”.

Bose along with Albert Einstein yielded the basic doctrines of the particles called “bosons”. Bose-Einstein Statistics, the Bose-Einstein Condensate and work on bosons are glowing reminders of that phenomenal relationship – which gave rise to several foundational elements of advanced physics.

With the Higgs-Boson particle on the threshold of solid discovery, Satyendra Nath Bose might have been happy with his work being the pivot of it all. Pride and honor is not those only emotions that an Indian would feel at Bose’s name being a part of that which is supposed to be the crux of all matter. A thousand Nobel Prizes couldn’t have done what the God Particle has done to an Indian scientist. Almost four decades since his demise, the man has been re- established as an illustrious scientist– and this time, the entire world has been jolted out of a trance. Years of neglect later, recognition has struck quiet rigidly. Satyendra Nath Bose isn’t a man who can be forgotten in the flash of an eye.

In particle physics, bosons comprise one of two classes of elementary particles, the other being fermions. The name boson was coined by Paul Dirac to commemorate the contribution of Satyendra Nath Bose in developing, with Einstein, Bose–Einstein statistics—which theorizes the characteristics of elementary particles. Examples of bosons include fundamental particles (i.e., Higgs boson, the four force-carrying gauge bosons of the Standard Model, and the still-theoretical graviton of quantum gravity); composite particles (i.e., mesons, stable nuclei of even mass number, e.g., deuterium,helium-4lead-208); and quasi particles (e.g. Cooper pairs). And according to the definition, bosons are particles which obey Bose–Einstein statistics.

Of late, the Higgs boson has garnered some serious attention. That’s exactly what happened on July 4, 2012, though, when scientists at CERN, working with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) announced that they’d found a particle that behaved the way they expect the Higgs boson to behave.

Two theorists who predicted the existence of the subatomic Higgs boson almost 50 years ago, what might give shape and size to all matter – and were proven right only in 2012 – won the Nobel Prize for physics on Tuesday. British physicist Peter Higgs and Belgian physicist Francois Englert shared the honors, announced in Stockholm at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. But, much of the credit for discovering the boson, or “God Particle,” has been given to British physicist Peter Higgs, much to the dismay of the Indian scientists and population.

While Albert Einstein is immortal and has been commemorated in terms of his work in Physics, and Peter Higgs’ list of awards don’t find an end, the other scientist whose namesake is a part of this God Particle, has been brutally glossed over. Bose’s contributions never found the international acknowledgement of a Nobel Prize, and the irony is even more obtrusive in the fact that several researches but the foundational one on the ‘Boson’ particle have been honored with that ultimate recognition. Satyendra Nath Bose undoubtedly deserved a Nobel, at least.

“Many people in this country have been perplexed and even annoyed, that the Indian half of the now-acknowledged `God particle’ is being carried in lower case,” The Economic Times wrote in an editorial Monday. What most don’t realize is that the naming of all bosons after Bose “actually denotes greater importance.”

“He is a forgotten hero,” the government expressed grief in a lengthy statement, noting that Bose was never awarded a Nobel Prize though “at least 10 scientists have been awarded the Nobel” in the same field.

While several Nobel prizes have been awarded research related to the concepts of the boson, Bose-Einstein statistics and Bose-Einstein condensate, Bose himself was never honored by the Nobel academy. Since Nobel is not given posthumously, the award will continue to elude the scientist. Had India been an independent nation Bose could have got more recognition than he has.

But undoubtedly, Satyendra Nath Bose is the name of excellence personified in the field of Physics and Maths in the whole world and without him, science would have had to return to its descent.

And it happened one morning……

Tags

Recently, it happened to be that I met one of my friends after a good one year. We both live in the same society, but as she travels a lot for her job and I remained confined into my house, stuck to my laptop and writing a piece or two, and this made both of us could not meet for a long time.

She came to my house to meet me and we chatted wholeheartedly, about the normal daily routine stuff. And during the course of our conversation, she literally pushed me to agree, to go on the morning walks daily at 6:00 am, with her.

I, generally, use to be a fitness freak (precisely, a maniac) always, working out or taking a walk in evening or mornings. But, since few months I observed my tendency of getting tired easily and lazing around. I could not afford giving any trouble or simply any pain of walking or working out, to my body. But, it was taking a toll on my health and I was gaining weight, day by day.

So, I agreed to her persuasion of going on the morning walks, but the hard task for me ahead was getting up early (actually, that early at 5:30 a.m.). I never ever had got up in the morning so early in my entire life, neither for studies nor for anything, except I had to catch a morning flight or a morning train.

I had always been a late-night or an extensively late-night person. I could remain awake till 4:00 am in the morning, back to back for my studies, or to watch a movie, or for anything. I never sleep in the afternoons, so I have to have a good 8 hour non-stop sleep, without any break or disturbance.

So, the challenge for me was to get up early and then go for morning walks and all that pain and struggle was only to lose some extra kilos, which I have put on while, sitting in the front of my laptop and writing some fiction.

That night, I could not sleep properly as I had to get up at 5:30 am in the next morning. It was the natural thing for me that whenever I had to wake up early and I have filled an alarm then my sleep always play hide and seek with me, no matter how tired I could be.

The next morning, I got up at 5:30, when the alarm rang (all thanks to the sweetest and melodious alarm tone that I have in my new phone. It wakes you up so serenely.)

My friend joined me further and once, I had completed one round I started feeling afresh and better. I felt like I have achieved something. We both completed that day of our walk quite efficiently, listening to the music on our media players.

The whole day passed, and I started feeling a tad dizzy, as I had hardly 5 hours of sleep that night. I tried to take a quick nap, but failed. And, I went to sleep early that night but could not sleep till my usual time.

The next day, I got up at 4:45 a.m. much before the alarm. I could not sleep further, as once my sleep is disrupted I could not carry on it further, it takes lot of efforts actually. So, I got up quiet unwillingly. I abused and cursed everything around and thought I would not be going for the morning walk from the next day onward, anyhow. I could not cause so much pain to my body for a little pleasure of weight loss. I thought I’ll inform my friend that from tomorrow onward I won’t be joining her.

I reached downstairs, and my friend joined me. I told her the whole thing and said I could not join her further on. She told me to try for a week, as our body takes few days to get accustomed to new daily clock of getting up and sleep patterns.

She insisted and I could not argue her further on, so I said that from tomorrow on, I’ll be getting up at 6:40 am and would be coming for the 7:00 am walk.  She said “fine but still try to make it around 15 minutes early”. I said “I’ll try”.

That night, I slept happily without any pressure of getting up early at 5:30 or any pressure of going to the walk; actually, because I told her that I’ll try.

Since, I slept without any pressures so I had a sound sleep that night and despite of having an alarm of 6:40 am, my eyes opened up at 6:15 am, by all itself. I got up from the bed instantly and got freshened up and was ready for the walk. That day, I felt energy and vehemence in that walk. I felt rather very good and energized. I felt awakened and yet my mind was completely relaxed.

Later, I have drawn a consensus and comprehended the fact that with this pattern of energizing my mind and body through walking in the early hours, and with a proper sound sleep (without any pressures or stress), I am now experiencing a physical and a spiritual boost of my absolute soul and quintessence. And therefore, due to this feeling of respite, my perspicacity and acuteness has changed in general.

Now, my subliminal mind has started cutting through the cerebral litter and mess, relaxing the embryonic verve and resourcefulness, surpassing the conventional limited thinking and helping me find a more logical and lucid answers.

Now, with a little effort and a proper and healthy lifestyle, I have attained from the daily cognizant intellect to my peak level of intelligence – the innate wits and brainpower.

I wish….

If I could have my wishes and if my wishes did come true;

I would wish for bliss, piece of good fortune and a long life for you.

I would wish for glee and fill your life with a pleasant song;

I would wish for some peace, joy and love, to follow you everywhere along.

Then I would wish from the divine angel, to visit you in dreams, at night;

And would wish your every dawn is glistening with sunup and is bright.

I would wish for no fancy things, to give back to myself;

As long as you are happy, I would wish for nothing else.

I just wish to see contentment on your face, and know you are fine;

Would try satisfying me and would bring joy to this heart of mine.

If I could have my wishes, if wishes did come true;

I would wish for the sun, and the moon and the stars and give them all to you.

I wish you perceive the world with the belief and intellect of awe of a naive kid.

I wish all you see and feel make your eyes illuminate and your heart dance, amid.

I wish your love and enchantment flow like the clean, clear water of a mirrored pool.

And I wish all who meet and know you; see the angel, a guardian angel within you.

“Jai Mata Di” – It’s time to chant some holy mantras

Navratris are here and today is the beginning of the first day of Navratri. It’s that time of the year, when the whole atmosphere around us, suddenly turns spiritual and pious. The onset of festivity in India begins from the beginning of Navratris.

Navratri is a Hindu festival devoted to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga. The word “Navaratri” exactly means nine nights, “nava” meaning nine and “ratri” meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti/Devi are worshiped. The tenth day is generally referred as “Vijayadashami or “Dussehra.”

Nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped during the Navratris. The first three days, the Goddess is invoked as powerful force called Durga in order to obliterate all our impurities and imperfections.

On the first day of Navratri, “Shailputri” form of durga is worshipped. “Parviti”, the daughter of the king of mountains “Himavan” is called Shailputri. “Shail” means Mountain, and “putri” means daughter. The first among the nine durgas and 1st night of Navratris is devoted to the worship of “Shailputri”. One of her two hands displays a trident and the other displays a lotus and her mount is a bull.

Let’s devote ourselves in worshipping “Ma Durga” during the Navaratris. She will bestow on us fortune, wealth, prosperity, wisdom, and other vigorous powers to cross every obstacle of life.

A walk at dawn

Morning walk or a morning therapy is the new-fangled gradient in my life. Some extraordinary serene view and stunning morning atmosphere has turned me poetical a tad, in these few weeks.

I had never thought of attempting poetry or I could not have ever thought that I could write even a few lines in rhyme, in my entire life. I have been only writing some gloomy, depressing stories of people in love, or some pieces on spirituality, till now, as a direct outcome of a way of life I have put myself into.  I would have only been a writer, and would not have felt the high of writing the poetic compositions ever.

Without a shred of doubt, I have recently started appreciating everything around me; the eminence of beauty, mercifulness, benevolence and sensibility and life as a whole. Yes, I have started appreciating and valuing life, from which I was running away from so long.

But now, I am filled with constructive spirit and vigor, all day long and don’t have time to allow negativity creep up into my mind.

Now suddenly in few days after going for the morning walks, I have started liking the magnificence of nature. Now, I like to see the sublime view of crack of dawn, the first ray of sunshine emerging from the clouds above the trees, slowly painting the sky in the shades of scarlet, crimson and pink, in few minutes and the darkness fading away, in no time.

I like to hear the first hymn of the birds crooning and leaving from their abode to start their day. I like to feel that pleasantly cool morning breeze, which makes tree dance in unison. I like to see the beauty of the tiny dewdrops, left on the leaves and flowers. I like to breathe in and out the morning fresh air, to help my brain and my vital organs function more swiftly and coherently.

Now, I like to see some happy faces of aged and ailing people, who despite of having their illness and age as a hindering factor, starts their day with morning walk, yoga or the community laughing session and fill up their day with energy and positivity.

I try to imbibe this energy and positivity from my morning walks into my life, and yes, hence I have started loving and living my life again.

Forever Yours

IMG_5250-1

He is my prince charming and my love forever;

I could forget everything, but him of course, never.

He had come into my empty life like a blooming flower;

And had filled it with joy and strewn his fragrance, all over.

He had poured his love on me like that first rainbow shower;

And he had filled my life with bliss and pleasure, forever.

We have been together, a long time now, in every single tide;

We have fought; we have hugged, we have laughed and cried,

We have seen each other through our worst and through our best;

And everything between us in every thick and thin and rest.

Today when I look at him, I feel more love than I have ever felt before.

We have a history together, full of shared memories that keep us so close to the core.

What life would have been like without him; he is my spouse, and he is my companion;

And I ask him nothing more than to be with me all his life in unification.

He is so much a part of me, a part of my subsistence and a part of my essence;

That it is impossible to imagine my life without his sanctimonious presence.

I pray to the almighty who grants everyone’s wishes and fulfill their requirement;

I would wish to be his soul mate now in this life, and forever in every re-embodiment.
